Shop online in our own 3-D virtual reality mall. You can even see and chat with other shoppers in real time. While in the 3-D Mall, you are represented by a full figured animated character called an avatar.
If you love to shop you will find plenty to do in our 3-D virtual mall. The cyberspace mall is designed to resemble a modern shopping mall. It is home to a variety of vendors of both traditional and virtual products and services. With dozens of stores selling a wide range of products, 3-D shopping is a unique e-commerce experience.
After you have downloaded the free 3-D browser and have entered the start world, look to the tabs at your left and click on the worlds tab. Find the world Chicago and click on it. Once you have been transported to Chicago World and after it loads, use your arrow keys to move around. Click on the Chicago3D Mall poster and you will be transported directly to the mall.

However, for the best possible experience in our 3-D virtual world we recommend the following minimum:

3D accelerated video card with at least 8MB and the latest drivers
Once you have landed in Chicago World, allow all the rich media to download before you start to navigate through the world. You will only have to do this one time.
The Active Worlds Browser
The Active Worlds Browser is the software that you use to visit Active Worlds virtual environments. An Active World is a place that you inhabit along with other users who are logged in to the Active World at the same time as you are. You can communicate with other users, and you can see their avatars. Many Active Worlds let you build, and whatever you build is visible to all others who visit that Active World. In short, an Active World is a shared experience using the Active Worlds Browser as an intermediary and common language. Each Active World may be subtly or radically different, but the Browser can take you to all of them. As the Active Worlds Universe continues to expand, your Active Worlds Browser can take you from place to place quickly and easily, and you'll be able to see new places and talk to new people.

When registering by mail, you must include a valid email address with your order, so that we can notify you by email of your new citizenship. Checks that do not include a valid email address will be returned to sender! You will be initially assigned a name and password by Activeworlds Corp. Once you have entered Active Worlds using the name and password we gave you, you can change one or both to anything you like (provided that the name is not already in use by another citizen of course).
